It's almost party time...

It's almost party time...

Hey guys and dolls, today is the last day of August which means one thing: it's our vintage tea party tomorrow! We hope you're all going to come along, us VV girls couldn't be more excited about hosting our second party and we've been working hard this past fortnight to get everything in place for the big night. If you haven't heard about it already, our vintage shopping party is starting at 5pm and with 15% off all our stock, a hair and make up stylist, tea, cakes, Pimm's, finger sandwiches and goodie bags to boot you can't afford to miss this fab affair.

Last week we were printing and cutting from dusk til dawn to get our tea party flyers all ready to hand out to our lovely customers. We were also printing some extra special things for our goodie bags that will be given out tomorrow night. You'll have to wait and see what they are!

Here's Zoe hard at work guillotine-ing our many flyers!

This morning the lovely Becky from Secret Teas dropped off boxes upon boxes of gorgeous vintage crockery for us. There's cake stands and teacups galore in VV today, ready to be piled high with cakes and sandwiches tomorrow and tonight it's going to be all about baking those all important, extra special cakes for the party. Flour at the ready.

A sneaky peek of the crockery we're unpacking for the party!

VV HQ has been non stop, and now we're nearly at the finishing line and excited about the big night. It's going to be a fun-filled night, and we're looking forward to meeting and greeting the vintage lovers of London in our Bayswater store. The hardest decision still has to be made though, what ARE we going to wear!?

It's not too late to RSVP, let us know if you're coming by clicking here, while we choose our frocks, why not tweet us what you're planning to wear @victoryvintage.

See you tomorrow!

Come party with Victory Vintage!

It's official, we're all set to host an amazing shopping party on the 1st September here at our fabulous store in Bayswater, and you're cordially invited.

Come join us for a fabulous evening of vintage shopping and browse our extensive collection of vintage goodies. We've got everything from showstopping evening gowns to those all important accessories. Fancy yourself a fur coat for this winter, or need a one-of-a-kind classic handbag for all your essentials? We thought so. And guys, there's plenty for you too, with our men's collection boasting smart suits, jackets and fancy footwear fit for a true gent. You'll find it all here at Victory Vintage and best of all, we're getting into the party spirit and taking 15% off everything.

They say the best part of a night out is getting ready, and our vintage make up and hairstylist Kate Campbell agrees. Kate will be on hand all night to give you the vintage look you've always wanted to try. Whether Clara Bow's your idol, or it's Twiggy's '60s style you covet, Kate's lookbook is jam-packed full of inspiration for you to choose from.

Marlene Dietrich's iconic '20s pin waves   Betty Grable's stunning '40s victory rolls    Twiggy's legendary striking '60s look

It wouldn't be a true tea party without a cuppa or two, but us VV girls don't do things by halves. It'll be chintzy china cups and shabby chic saucers galore, and there'll even be Pimm's on hand if tea doesn't take your fancy. For all those sweet tooths there'll be cupcakes aplenty but fear not, our finger sandwiches will take care of all those savoury snack needs too.

Dainty china crockery to enjoy your tea from!

With yesteryear tunes set to be played all night long, this is one date in your diary you just can't miss out on. Ladies, why not come in your prettiest tea dress? Guys, if the mood takes you, come suited and booted. There'll be a prize for the best dressed lady and gent of the night!

Follow all the exciting developments in the run up to the party here on the blog and on our Facebook and Twitter feeds.

We look forward to seeing you on the 1st!

Forties fabulousness, at your fingertips!

 Forties fabulousness, at your fingertips!

Take note fashionistas, the forties are coming back in full force this autumn/winter, and that means figure flattering cuts are going stellar. Create the curves you've always wanted in a stunning frock that oozes glamour. Here are Victory Vintage's top tips for achieving that forties charm.

Do invest in an LBD, as long as it has a nipped in waist and/or some gorgeous pleats you're good to go, just get those locks up in rollers before the party starts. The catwalks this year were laden with forties fabulous shapes, just like Donna Karan's wonderful creation above, which means the high street will be following pretty quickly, so sharpen your elbows for a forties bargain. Alternatively, go all original in a one-of-a-kind vintage frock, like this swoon-worthy black number from our collection.

Don't be afraid of layering. Layers of lace can look gorgeous on an evening gown, and you shouldn't shy away from a showstopping frock. Moschino nailed layered fabric on the catwalk where their stunning beige and black number proved a huge hit. Raid your local haberdashery for lace trims to add to your ordinary dresses that aren't quite special enough, take your pointers from this beautiful ball gown from our collection. In this case, less is definitely not more. Fabulous!

Do go for a two piece. A high waisted skirt and cute jacket never goes out of style, and Gucci has proved that there's nothing smarter than a trouser suit, make sure yours has a pretty pattern for an extra fun feel. For an extra vintage feel add pearls and curls, or give your two piece a contemporary feel with a modern undone 'do and piles of attitude. This vintage couture Molyneux two piece ticks all of this season's forties boxes, and isn't afraid of the right kind of attention!
